The Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago

The Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago is the oldest established Art Organization in the Caribbean.  It was started by a small group of painters, poets and writers who called themselves the “Society of Trinidad Independents”.  Their activities 72 years ago began the turn of Trinidad's cultural arts towards the development of contemporary art.  The organization's mission is to nurture, promote, protect and advocate for visual artists and visual arts in Trinidad and Tobago.
